August 28h through September 19, 2013 I will be showing at the Fine Arts Gallery at Seminole State College. I will be featuring a cross section of my work of the Southeastern United States, including my newest work from Western Tennessee. The opening reception will be August 28th.

May 17th through May 26th I will be traveling to Western Tennessee to photograph. This trip is  supported in part with a Professional Development Grant from United Arts of Central Florida. During this trip I will keep a blog on my travels and welcome anyone to “ride along.” Each day I will publish my thoughts and a few of the images while on my travels. The Memphis page to my blog will begin on May 17th.

From May29th to July 28, 2013, I will have work in the Alumni Exhibition at the Southeast Museum of Photography in Daytona Beach. I will be showing with fellow alumns, David Monroe and Rick Wagner. The opening reception will be on the 29th from 5:00 – 7:00pm.

April 13th I will be giving a workshop, “Eau Gallie in Black & White – A Photographic Workshop with Rick Lang.” at the Foosner Musuem in Melbourne Florida. Call 321-674-8915 for more information.

Opening February 26th is the Art of Mentorship show at the Winter Garden City Hall. The opening will from 5:30 to 7:30 in the main lobby of City Hall. The show features the faculty who taught at the Winter Garden Campus of Crealde School of Art along with one of their students.

Opening January 5th is the show Director’s Choice, that will feature a selection of my photographs. The opening will be from 6pm – 9pm at the Showalter, Hughes Community Gallery at Crealde School of Art. This show will feature a selected group of Crealde’s Faculty.

My work and words will be featured in the November/December, 2012 issue of  Photo Technique Magazine. The story is called The Importance of Relationships. In addition to the written article there will be a small portfolio of 6 recent images.

In January, 2012,  it was announced that Rick was awarded a Artist Development Grant from United Arts of Central Florida. He was awarded $2,500 to travel to Western Tennessee. Keep checking with this blog for entries while on the trip. The trip will be from May 16th to the end of the month. 

Rick will have a portfolio of his work featured in the Extended version of LensWork Magazine #96, the September/October 2011 issue.

This summer (2011) 12 photographs of Rick’s social landscapes was selected by museum director, Kevin Miller, for the permanent collection of the Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona Beach FL.
